Merchant Finance & Investment Company Limited (formerly Merchant Bank of Fiji Limited) became a wholly owned subsidiary of FHL in August 1997 after the two shareholders, Australian Guarantee Corporation (AGC) and International Finance Corporation (IFC) sold their shares.
