FHL Announces Appointment Of New CEO For Merchant Finance

In a statement issued to the market today, the Board of Merchant Finance and Investments Limited announced the appointment of Mr Uday Raj Sen as the new Chief Executive Officer for the company. Releasing the statement, FHL Group Managing Director Mrs. Sereana Qoro stated that Mr. Sen, currently the General Manager – Business Development & Lending for Credit Corporation (Fiji) Limited for the last 10 years, is very experienced and has a unique perspective of the transport industry which is a key component of Merchant Finance market segment. Mr Sen’s previous employment with Carpenters Group is also considered an advantage. Mr. Sen, a Master of Commerce graduate from the University of the South Pacific, is a qualified Fiji Chartered Accountant and a full CPA Australia member. Mr. Sen is a director of Fiji Hardwood Corporation Limited since 2006 and the Fiji Club and is the Vice President of the Fiji Institute of Accountants. Mrs. Qoro added that the Board is confident that having worked as General Manager of a financing institution, Mr. Sen brings with him the business management and leadership skills required for the job. Mrs. Qoro further added that Merchant Finance is a key subsidiary for Fijian Holdings Limited and will play a leading role in the Fijian Holdings Group plan to grow in the Pacific.
