Standard Concrete Invests In Mobile Washing And Sceening Plant

Standard Concrete Industries, a subsidiary of Fijian Holdings Limited, recently purchased a mobile washing and screening plant from Australia for washing roading aggregates.

The plant is currently set up at the company’s Wailotua Quarry for processing basecourse for use by the Public Works Department on the Kings Road Project. According to Wailotua Plant Manager, Mr David Jones, the plant was brought in primarily for processing basecourse for the Kings Road.

Acquiring the mobile plant falls in line with the Fijian Holdings Group strategic goal of expanding its network in Fiji and the Pacific region. Mr Jones said, “The plant is available to wash and screen material to produce roading aggregates anywhere in Fiji or offshore.”

Part of the delay in the Kings Road Project was attributed to dirty basecourse that could not be used on the project. The new plant enables Standard Concrete Industries to expand its product range and also to produce a quality product.

The mobile washing and screening plant which cost AUD400,000 will facilitate the completion of the Kings Road Project. This investment will not only benefit the company in providing quality aggregates locally but will also benefit all road users in the nation as well.

Standard Concrete Industries also exports aggregates to other South Pacific Island nations that do not have aggregate sources of their own.
