Silver Medal Winning Paralympian Is Blue Lagoon's Official Ambassador


Fijian Holdings Limited subsidiary, Blue Lagoon Cruises has appointed New Zealand Order of Merit recipient and Sydney 2000 silver medal winning Paralympian, Mark Inglis as the company’s official international ambassador.

Mr Inglis is a Businessman, Adventurer and one of New Zealand’s leading motivational speakers. He began his career as a Search and Rescue Mountaineer in New Zealand’s Mount Cook National Park in 1979 to 1985. In 1989, he switched to a research scientist career after graduating with a first class honours degree in human biochemistry. His career later evolved into winemaking from 1992 to 2002 with one of New Zealands’s leading winemakers, Montana where he became senior winemaker.

Mr Inglis who is the Founding Trustee of Limbs4all Charitable Trust in New Zealand is the first double amputee to stand at the summit of Mount Everest. Over the past 6 years he has specialized in keynote addresses that are based around mountaineering as a metaphor for business and life. 

Blue Lagoon General Manager, Mr Tim Stonhill said that he was delighted to welcome such a high profile international personality into the team. “Mark’s international exploits and achievements and reputation as a world renowned motivator and author precede him. Mr Stonhill added that Mr Inglis will represent Blue Lagoon in all his endeavours and promote the company at all opportunities thus providing it with access to a very large network of corporate clients around the world.

“As a Fijian Holdings subsidiary, attaining Mark’s services not only promotes Blue Lagoon Cruises around the globe, it also raises awareness in the global arena of the Fijian Holdings Group,” said Mr Stonhill.

A graduate of the Lincoln University, Mr Inglis also holds a Doctor of Science Degree in Natural Resources and is an author of world renown.
