Clariti (South Pacific) Limited (CSPL), a subsidiary of Fijian Holdings Limited, in partnership with its global partners has embarked on an initiative to establish Fiji’s first Information Technology (IT) Skills Centre.

In an effort to address the shortage of IT experts in the country, Clariti, through its Skills Centre will engage foreign IT Specialists to work with its employees and customers on projects in order to train and upskill local IT personnel.

Clariti’s General Manager, Mr Jagath Karunaratne said, “The Skills Centre will provide practical training programmes or hands-on training whilst a project is in its implementation stage. Thus the knowledge of IT brought in by our global partners is actually imparted to our local IT experts before the foreign experts leave our shores or before the project proceeds to another stage of development.” 

Mr Karunaratne added that the company will invite IT staff of organizations involved in its projects to join the Skills Centre and work with the Clariti Team and the foreign specialists on their projects thus providing them with hands-on training and the opportunity to upgrade their own IT skills. 

Training participants will receive certificates after completion of programmes offered at the centre. At present, the centre is pending registration under the Ministry of Education, Training and Vocational Educational Centre for recognition and accreditation of programmes that will be offered.

The Skills Centre, which will be housed within Clariti’s office premises in Vatuwaqa, will enable Clariti to offer Total IT Solutions to its customers.
