Suva, 30 January, 2009: Local equity investment firm, Fijian Holdings Limited today announced the appointments of Mr Aisake Cabemaiwai as Property Manager and Mr Napolioni Batimala as Manager Finance, Investments and Strategy.

As professionals they each bring with them a wealth of knowledge and experience relevant for the positions. The appointments are in line with FHL’s Human Resource Strategy to increase and maintain the quality of business management skills to support our present operation and prepare for business growth,” said Mrs Sereana Qoro, Fijian Holdings Managing Director.

As Property Manager, Mr Cabemaiwai will be responsible for the successful management of all FHL properties including Ratu Sukuna House, Vanua House and Ra Marama. Prior to joining Fijian Holdings, Mr Cabemaiwai was Manager Properties at Colonial Fiji where his role involved property maintenance and overall management. He commenced his professional career as an employee of the Native Land Trust Board where he worked for 5 years. He was a Property Officer at the Fiji National Provident Fund before he joined Colonial. Mr Cabemaiwai holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Land Management and Property Development and Tourism Studies from the University of the South Pacific.

Napolioni Batimala, the new Manager Finance, Investments and Strategy is a chartered accountant by profession having spent the past eight years of his career with PricewaterhouseCoopers. As PWC Manager Assurance for the last three years, Napolioni possesses the required knowledge and skills in financial analysis and business modeling, business valuation and due diligence work. Mr Batimala commenced his career as an employee in the Reserve Bank of Fiji’s Exchange Control Department in 1998. From 1999 to 2000, he worked in various sections of the Ministry of Finance and this included the Financial Management Reform and Information Systems, Budget and Financial Management & Audit before joining PricewaterhouseCoopers in 2000.

Mr Batimala holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting and Financial Management and Information Systems from the University of the South Pacific. He also holds a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance and Investment from the University of New South Wales and is a Senior Associate of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.
