Thanksgiving Service to close Celebrations
The Fijian Holdings Group today held a thanksgiving service at the Wesley Church, Butt Street to close its week-long 20-year anniversary celebrations. The service was presided over by Reverend Jone Lagi, currently the General Secretary for the Methodist Church. The theme for the church service was thanksgiving, for the lives of the people who have contributed to Fijian Holdings success from its inception until now. The Managing Director for Fijian Holdings Limited and Merchant Finance and Investment Limited, Mr Sitiveni Weleilakeba reflected on the 20-years of operations of Fijian Holdings and how far the company has come. In sharing his 17-year experience with the congregation, Mr Weleilakeba reflected on the small and humble beginnings of Fijian Holdings from a small office in Ratu Sukuna House with only a few employees, ‘Today the company has survived and grown to become a flagship for Fijian businesses’. In his address, he acknowledged the contribution of past Board members who have been instrumental in building up the platform for this success. In particular, he acknowledged the contribution of the Chairman, Mr Lyle Cupit in the role that he has played to champion the cause for indigenous Fijian participation in the commercial sector of Fiji’s economy through Fijian Holdings. The service was attended by the Board of Fijian Holdings Limited, the Great Council of Chiefs’ representatives and members of Cabinet.
