FHL to Continue Sponsor the Academic Dux Prizes

FIJIAN HOLDINGS LIMITED (FHL) TO CONTINUE SPONSOR THE ACADEMIC DUX PRIZES TO THE TOP FOUR (4) FIJIAN SCHOOLS IN FIJI

Fijian Holdings Limited (FHL) today reiterated its commitment to providing the Academic Dux prizes to the four Fijian Secondary Schools, namely Queen Victoria School, Ratu Kadavulevu School, Adi Cakobau School and to the indigenous Fijian who scored the highest mark in the 2005 Fiji School Leaving Certificate (pending confirmation from the Ministry of Education).

In announcing the decision today, FHL Managing Director Mr. Sitiveni Weleilakeba said that Fijian Holdings Limited is well known in Fiji for its financial accomplishment which has lead to direct benefits to its shareholders. Since its establishment, FHL had paid out over $39.6 million in dividends in addition to maintaining a consistent growth in shareholder value. The FHL Board approval for the continuation of the award reflects its desire to share FHL success with our people and also the need for a more constructive involvement in the education of the future leaders of our nation.

One of FHL foundation for success in the commercial world has been continually educating its people. FHL has a Management Training Scheme targeted at graduate from tertiary institutions as part of its corporate structure. These awards will broaden FHL's involvement in the area of education and development of young people.

The sponsored prize will be again a personal laptop computer with the following specifications: 40 - 80GB Hard Drive; DVD Combo Drive; 56K modem, Touchpad, 8-cell Li-Ion Battery; Windows XP Professional and 1 year parts and labour warranty plus Carry Cases.

The selected dux prize is intended to be an encouragement to the recipient to further aspire for higher honours.

The respective Schools' Principals together with the Chief Education Officer - Secondary, represented the four Secondary Schools at the announcement ceremony today. Mr. Suliasi Lutubula from the Ministry of Education expressed their appreciation to the continued support from Fijian Holdings Limited and stated that these prizes should be very useful as it would be an encouragement to the students to give their best in the upcoming internal and external examinations.

FHL will monitor progress of these students through their higher education and may assist in developing their professional careers. FHL is also pleased to note that past recipient of these dux prizes are well on their way to achieving their undergraduate degrees at various university locally and overseas.
